Web site provides free breast cancer risk assessment tool
A new Web site aims to help women learn about breast cancer and evaluate their breast cancer risk. The site, www.PursuingPainFreeCancer.org/breastcancer, was developed by Illinois-based Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers. It features a free online risk assessment that evaluates a woman's risk based on certain genetic and lifestyle factors, such as personal and family medical history, obesity, ethnicity, menstrual periods, smoking, and alcohol consumption.

I am working as a community ambassador with Pantene Beautiful Lengths and Million Inch Chain. Together we are trying to gather 1 million inches of hair and turn them into wigs. We plan on providing these wigs free of charge to women affected by chemo related hair loss. For a lot of women that lose their to cancer treatment, it can be very extremely difficult to deal with. Our ultimate goal is to support these women in their difficult struggle by providing them with the confidence boost they may need.

What a great tool to help women determine their risk factors for cancer. I think the most important thing we can do to preserve our health is to follow a balanced diet and exercise regularly. I lost my father to cancer, and he always ate things he shouldn't have eaten, so he easily could have done lots of things to prevent that. So I'm just trying to fight in his name and raise awareness to this subject.
